"Advance All Fauna Fair"

(The lyrics for the famous "Tea Tree Hollow" song)

(To be sung to whatever tune you think best suits it!)

I

This is Pangea’s ancient land
Of creatures strange and rare.
‘Australia’ or ‘New Holland’ -
Such names do we forswear.
Our land belongs to all endowed
With feathers, scales or hair
So let us join our voices loud
And this our pledge declare –
That we’ll uphold our
Birthplace old:

"ADVANCE ALL FAUNA FAIR!"

II

Home of koala, kangaroo,
Wombat and platypus…
‘Terra Incognito’ has so
Long been well known to us!
For macropods and monotremes,
Strange birds and reptiles rare,
To all of Nature’s odd extremes
We solemnly declare –
That we’ll defend our
Purposed End:

"ADVANCE ALL FAUNA FAIR!"

III

When Man first overran our land
To gouge out Nature’s hoard…
By axe and plough, our forest land
Was turned to grazing sward.
The alien beasts they introduced
Have destroyed species rare.
When will we cease to be abused
And Man this harm repair?
For such a Day we
Can but pray:

"PRESERVE OUR FAUNA FAIR!"

VI

"Pangea"- as it’s known to some,
Where all our species throng,
Is still our first-created home
Where folks like us belong.
So let us pray that men one day,
May take their beasts elsewhere.
And let us live our gentle way
In peace and free from care!
Then, free from Man, at
Last we can

"ADVANCE ALL FAUNA FAIR!"!"!!
